Tommy Dominguez secured the acquittal for his client charged with requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour.

Following a five-day trial at the Central Criminal Court, Tommy’s client was unanimously acquitted after the jury had been in retirement for just 1 hour 15 minutes.

The Crown alleged that the Defendant had conspired with the Uganda High Commission to arrange for a woman to travel to the United Kingdom from Uganda. Once in the country, the Complainant was said to have been forced to work as a slave at the Defendant’s home address for a period of 10 months.

The Defendant maintains her good character.

Tommy was assisted by James North, a pupil at 4BB Chambers, and instructed by Darekshan Salaria of Simon Bethel Solicitors
