We are delighted to announce that Serena Lit has won her first trial at Basildon Magistrates’ Court. Serena secured the acquittal for her client charged with two allegations of threats to kill.

The Crown alleged that the Defendant had threatened to kill his partner at their home and then repeated that threat to a police officer. The latter alleged threat was captured on body-worn video.

Following the prosecution case, Serena successfully persuaded the Court that there was no case to answer in respect of one of the allegations. The Defendant was then acquitted of the remaining allegation after giving evidence whereby he denied any intention to cause fear of that threat being carried out.

Serena was instructed by Iain Lancaster of Panesar & Co Solicitors.
