Niamh Sexton secured the acquittal for her client charged with four offences of Being Concerned in the Supply of Class A and Class B Drugs.
The Crown alleged that the Defendant was running a drugs line, relying upon cell site and ANPR evidence.
Following a three-day retrial at Bromley Youth Court appearing under a Certificate for Counsel, Niamh’s was able to successfully raise a modern slavery defence for her vulnerable and young client. Niamh also successfully made representations to admit a psychiatric report as hearsay, whilst persuading the Court to exclude parts of evidence the Crown sought to rely upon due to its unfairness.
Niamh was instructed by Lisa Connell of Macauley Smith Solicitors.
