Isabel Delamere prosecuted Alex Housden who pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults and kidnappings committed in 2002. This was following the re-opening of the investigation after 20 years where a DNA match led to his guilty pleas.
Two girls, then aged 16 and 17, were dragged from a street in Harpenden into a wooded area, in broad daylight and sexually assaulted.
The Defendant was sentenced to an extended sentence of 16 years’ custody plus 2 years’ extended licence, making a total sentence of 18 years.
