Gemma Delaney wins in Court of Appeal

At the Court of Appeal on 15th June 2016, Gemma Delaney successfully appealed against a sentence of 37 months, imposed against her client for an offence of maliciously causing grievous bodily harm. The Court of Appeal agreed with the defence submissions that the sentencing judge had failed to have sufficient regard for the appellant’s mitigation or given sufficient credit for his guilty plea. His sentence was reduced to 30 months.
