Tim Naik is an established criminal practitioner with over 30 years’ experience of both prosecuting and defending as a Leading Junior and as sole counsel.

He undertook a pupillage that encompassed insolvency and bankruptcy, before moving to an exclusively criminal practice.

Tim has a substantial advisory practice encompassing prosecution pre-charge advice through to defence direct access multi-jurisdictional pre-charge engagement and representation.

His extensive trial and appellate experience, both prosecuting and defending, includes cases involving serious sexual offences, extreme violence and gang warfare, drugs and firearms, money laundering and connected confiscation.

Tim has significant expertise in conducting appeals against Conviction and Sentence. He successfully conducted the first prosecution appeals against terminating rulings and he is frequently instructed in appeals where he did not conduct the trial.  He recently succeeded in an appeal against conviction) where he acted alone against a prosecution team consisting of a silk and two juniors.

He has been on the RASSO approved list for over 20 years and is Direct Access qualified
