Serena Lit began her second six pupillage in April 2025 under the supervision of Matthew Kirk.

Throughout her first six, Serena gained broad experience of Chambers’ main areas of practice under the supervision of Julia Mackworth. Serena now welcomes instructions to prosecute and defend in all areas of criminal practice across the Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Courts.

Prior to pupillage, Serena was a senior political advisor and media strategist. During this time, she worked on new measures to better protect and support victims of sexual abuse. Serena also has a strong interest in the defence of civil liberties and campaigned against the curtailing of protest rights.

Serena is developing a broad criminal practice, encompassing serious violence, fraud, motoring offences, communications offences and supply of drugs.
