Ryan has built a varied and busy practice encompassing all areas of criminal law, mainly focussed in the South and East of England.He is experienced in both prosecuting and defending serious and complex cases, including matters involving organised crime, drugs, robbery, significant violence and sexual offences. Ryan’s diligence and attention to detail mean that he is comfortable being instructed at all levels and at short notice. Ryan has appeared at the Court of Appeal and undertaken out-of-court work for the Serious Fraud Office. Prior to coming to the Bar, Ryan worked in a variety of legal roles, including at a highly regarded solicitors’ firm providing support in cases in the Court of Appeal, High Court and Supreme Court. He also worked in legal roles at GE Capital, Clyde &Co., RWE Dea and for the Free Representation Unit in the Employment Tribunal.

Ryan accepts Defence instructions in all areas of criminal law. He excels in jury advocacy, ensuring that his lay clients’ instructions are carefully and skilfully put in order to secure the best outcome possible.
Crime (Prosecution)
Ryan is a level 2 Prosecutor for the CPS and also accepts instructions from other prosecuting agencies. He regularly prosecutes serious and multi-handed cases in the Crown Court.
