Neil prosecutes and defends in serious criminal offences across London and the South East of England.

A Grade 4 prosecutor since 2019, Neil regularly prosecutes cases involving attempted murder, multi handed violence, drugs and fraud.

Neil has experience as both a leading and lead junior, with recent cases where he led including a drugs conspiracy with 20 defendants. All were convicted.

Neil has defended and prosecuted in high profile murder cases and has experience of conducting cases attracting significant media attention.

Neil has regular experience in appellate work before the Court of Appeal, with his written submissions recently described as being of ‘high quality’ by the Court.

Neil’s practice involves the full spectrum of criminal offending, including gang crime, drugs cases with international dimensions and murder.

Neil has experience of PII cases, cases with informants, prison informers, juvenile defendants and witnesses with special needs, including a witness who was mute.

Neil is regularly instructed in cases involving encrochat and other telephone evidence.

High profile cases include the trial of Ian Stewart for his first wife’s murder, the prosecution of rapper Dappy for weapons offences and the Olympic Games bottle-thrower case.

Neil regularly appears at the Court of Appeal and has achieved success both defending and prosecuting. His written submissions have been incorporated into the single judge’s decisions on a number of occasions.

R v K and others, CCCC

Led junior defending a 15 year old defendant. Successfully excluded anonymous witness evidence and bad character material.


R v Ian Stewart, Huntingdon CC

Led junior in the prosecution of double-murderer, resulting, initially, in a whole life order.


R v M and others, Huntingdon CC

Led junior in the prosecution of two juveniles for a homicide committed in relation to a drugs feud in Cambridge.


R v Shah and others, Canterbury CC

Junior alone, successful prosecution of an organised crime group for drugs and firearms offences.


R v Lecky and Others, Luton CC

Prosecution junior alone, prosecuting a carefully orchestrated revenge attack with axe and machete where the defendants were represented by 4 silks and juniors. The case involved facial recognition technology, cell site and prison informant evidence. All defendants convicted


R v Leach and others, St Albans CC

Successful prosecution of a pension fraud committed by a financial advisor against dozens of unwitting depositors.
