Loheswaran Amirthananthar (Lohan as he is better known) has a mixed practice that reflects on his varied and extensive career in defence and prosecution.
Lohan first worked as a criminal defence solicitor in 2001 and practiced as a solicitor advocate from 2005 appearing as sole and junior counsel is several serious cases covering violence, drugs, homicide, fraud and sex.
To extend his skill set he joined the CPS as a Senior Crown Prosecutor specialising in complex multi-handed cases involving fraud, and violence where he developed an excellent reputation for his litigation skills and legal judgement. He has a particular interest in the logical presentation and analysis of evidence in a novel and compelling way. He developed critical working knowledge of cases involving international assistance from involving International Letters of Request (ILORS), and Mutual Legal Assistance (ILORS).
In 2025 he returned to his first love of advocacy by transferring to the Bar and joining 4BB Chambers, where he has continued with his defence practice of serious crime to which he has added a prosecution practice too.
