Kevin Walsh is regularly instructed in the most serious criminal cases, both as a leading junior and junior alone. In recent years, he has defended in cases concerning large scale conspiracies involving organised crime, international drugs distribution, kidnap and high value fraud. He has vast experience in dealing with vulnerable clients.

Kevin is adept at assimilating and distilling large amounts of evidence and identifying the salient points of any case. He is very experienced with technology, especially dealing with disclosure of voluminous electronic material.This experience gives him great skill when cross examining expert witnesses, particularly in the realms of phone, computer data and cell cite evidence.

Kevin is also highly experienced regarding financial crime and ancillary matters such as proceeds of crime, confiscation and restraint

Notable Crime cases


  • Operation Arbus [2023] Cardiff Crown Court

    Leading Ryan Brennan. Cardiff Crown Court. Combined Operations Wisdom and Arbus into allegations of Kidnap and Blackmail where the victims were caused life changing injuries.

  • R v R (2021 – 2022) Manchester Crown Court

    National Crime Agency prosecution re: multi handed conspiracy to import industrial levels of cocaine into the United Kingdom.

  • R v S Kingston Crown Court (2001 – 2002)

    Led by Abigail Penny, conspiracy to rob cash in transit vans.

    The first trial lasted between 15 March 2021 – 3 June 2021. After a re-trial between 1 February 2022 and 1 April 2022, their defendant was acquitted of conspiracy to posses a firearm with intent to endanger life.

    The prosecution case consisted of a large amount of technical data, particularly cell site evidence. This evidence was successfully challenged.

  • R v S Maidstone Crown Court (2022)

    Defendant acquitted of section 18 GBH, the jury accepted the defendant acted in self-defence when he stabbed the complainant in the chest.

  • R v S Inner London Crown Court (2022)

    Mutli-handed prosecution of “Deliveroo” drug service throughout London. Value of drugs was placed in the millions. Defendant acquitted of conspiracy to supply class A

  • R v D Southwark Crown Court (2001)

    Alleged rape of complainant with severe learning difficulties.

Notable cases


Remice v Governor of Belmarsh Prison [2007] EWHC 936 (Admin); [2007] Crim.L.R. 796, DC (Archbold 2024 3-155)

Successful writ of habeas corpus in relation to Mr Remice’s remand into custody. Leading authority re: prosecution bail appeal and detention under s.128A(2) Magistrates’ Court Act 1980. Divisional Court found that Mr Remice had been unlawfully remanded by Woolwich Crown Court.


R v Chart (2015)

Sentence of four years, reduced on appeal to three.


R v Simms (2011)

Successful appeal against the imposition of mandatory 7 year sentence for third drug offence.


R v H (Chichester Crown Court) September 2024

Kevin Walsh’s client was found not guilty of a serious assault, after a trial, at Chichester Crown Court.

He was instructed by David Forsyth of Goodhand Forsyth Solicitors.


R v V (Croydon Crown Court) August 2024

Kevin Walsh’s client was acquitted of section 18, grievous bodily harm after a trial, at Croydon Crown Court. His client had profound learning difficulties.

R v M (Inner London Crown Court) April 2024

Kevin Walsh’s client was found not guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent after a trial at Inner London Crown Court. The trial involved multiple defendants.
