James North began his first six pupillage in October 2025 under the supervision of Tim Naik.
He read Law and Business Management at the University of Winchester before completing an MA Law (Conversion) and Bar Practice Course at the University of Law. His dissertation analysed the government’s proposals to ensure attendance at sentencing hearings through the use of force.
James strives to develop a broad criminal practice that balances both prosecution and defence work. He will be able to accept instructions from April 2026, upon commencing his second six pupillage.
