Jack Wright is an experienced advocate capable of prosecuting and defending multifaceted cases involving vulnerable defendants and victims. He has a wide practice and has accepted instructions both as a junior on large-scale drug conspiracy and human trafficking cases, as well as acting as a representative for vulnerable persons not fit to stand trial.

Jack also has experience working in-house with solicitors and other agencies on large and complex cases.

Jack accepts both prosecution and defence briefs, appearing in the Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Courts. He is regularly engaged by both the CPS and defence solicitors to undertake a wide variety of criminal work including; fraud, drugs, violent crime, and sexual offences. Jack also accepts work from independent contractors and is regularly instructed by probation. He has previously appeared in the High Court for the local authority, and has accepted instructions to assist with evidential reviews in complex cases.

Notable cases


R v M & Others Aylesbury Crown Court (2023)

Led junior in a multi-handed drugs conspiracy, spanning three trials.


R v N Aylesbury Crown Court (2022)

Represented the Crown in a case of GBH. The offence took place in a prison setting and the complainant felt unable to support the prosecution. Secured a conviction by majority.


R v C Basildon Crown Court (2022)

Secured a suspended sentence order for a client with over 30 convictions for 50 offences, who faced four different charges of burglary.


R v G Reading Crown Court (2022)

Represented the Crown in a case of Arson. Successfully resisted an application to dismiss that centred around the admissibility of confession evidence. The defendant then pleaded and was sentenced.


R v K Willesden Magistrates Court (2019)

Defendant was charged with fraud under section 6 of the Fraud Act 2006 by the Local Authority. The matter was to be sent to the Crown Court. Following successful representations at court the local authority agreed to review the case and ultimately withdrew the charges.


R v G Isleworth Crown Court (2019)

Secured an absolute discharge for a defendant who was mentally unwell following an actus reus hearing. Defendant had been found to have made threats to kill a member of the public and assaulted a police officer.


R v O Hendon Magistrates Court (2018)

Defendant acquitted after making full admissions to the police on body worn video. The evidence was found to be inadmissible following a successful application under s. 78 PACE which assisted in securing the acquittal.
