4BB Chambers are delighted to welcome Amelia Leventhorpe and James North who commence their pupillages this week.
James read Law and Business Management at the University of Winchester before completing an MA Law (Conversion) and Bar Practice Course at the University of Law. His dissertation analysed the government’s proposals to ensure attendance at sentencing hearings through the use of force.
James is looking to develop a broad criminal practice that balances both prosecution and defence work. He will be able to accept instructions from April 2026, upon commencing his second six pupillage. He is under the supervision of Tim Naik.
Prior to pupillage, Amelia worked as an usher in Cambridge Magistrates’ Court before joining a Cambridge Criminal Defence Solicitors’ Firm as the Crown Court paralegal. She taught debating classes at HMP Thameside through the Vocalise program. She studied the Bar Practice Course with Masters at the University of Law where she took additional modules in Medical Law & Ethics and Compliance & Regulation.
Amelia has a strong interest in youth court and serious crime as well as in regulatory work. She is supervised by Matthew Kirk.
